VOLUNTEER WITH US

Volunteers will learn about the traditional life of the Bakonzo people. You will experience the reality of living in Uganda. Uganda is actually more a diamond in the rough, unpolished but potentially shining bright, but you will learn to discover and appreciate this hidden gem.
Life here is simple and peaceful. In contrast to the fast and industrialized Western world, you will be brought back to the essential of life: living it. Time does not always have to be filled here, living life in a rush is no priority. Where in the developed world time is very costly, here time is something that simply passes by while you’re living your life. Food is produced locally and handcraft is still king. The people will teach you about their traditions, customs, and talk about their wishes.
When you get here you will see a different, simple way of life, and we are certain that your experience here will change the way you look at life, which will be of value for the rest of your time on this earth.

“Volunteering in Ruboni, at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, has been an eye-opening and deeply rewarding experiences of my life. When I first arrived, I expected to see roads with rubbish, but instead I found clean paths, thriving nature, and a peaceful and welcoming community. “

Ruboni

Ruboni is a small village located in western Uganda, right at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. It is home to the Bakonjo people, an indigenous community that has lived in this region for generations and remains deeply connected to the land. Daily life here is shaped by agriculture: families grow their own food and coffee and rely on small local businesses to support their households. The liefstyle in this village is simple, but fiiled with a lot of happines, kindnes and warmth. Visitors often describe the village as peaceful, welcoming and surprisingly clean and organized, surrounded by lush nature and breathtaking mountain views.

Despite its beauty, Ruboni faces challenges typical of rural areas in Uganda. Access to clean water, stable income, education, and proper sanitation remains limited for many families. (You can finde more informations about the problems and challenges under Projects).

One of the key organizations is the Rwenzori Child Care Initiative (RCCI), which supports vulnerable children, helps girls stay in school, empowers women through training and small income programs, and improves hygiene, health and environmental awareness. It is lead by Isaac Kule, who is the founder and a voulunteer here.
